The bottom line, We have tried it all, Fancy cartridge joints which corrode from dirt and debris, add snow and forget it, one fancy joint-one bushing which just ended up destroying the non-cartridge end, Johnny, Jimmy, Express and Heims, all the same result, exposed balls failing to the elements..  The end result was always the same, these exposed boll joints do not hold up or last, this is multiplied 10X in snow.  Poly bushings are ridged, squeak and do not flex, requiring the cartridge joint on the other end, ridged bushings were the shortfall of the 96-97 stock links.  The best solution after years of building these and actually WHEELING them.  Stick with the Genuine Toyota Bushings they side twist extremely well, make no noise and the MOST IMPORTANT thing, they last as long as the rest of your Toyota, even in snow.  The more Toyota parts you can keep on your Toyota, the better.

Extreme Duty 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner, 2003+ Toyota 4Runner and 2007+ FJ Cruiser Lower Rear Links

Shown is a pair of our Extreme Duty Links, all parts are brand new.  Even the Genuine Toyota Bushings.

2007+ FJC & 2003+ 4Runner version.  Empty tubes, these still need the bushings installed.

Here you can see the difference in tube wall thickness.  Stock tube is 1/8" and these links are 1/4" wall.  The other thing to be noted is that the stock links have a welded seam, which can be a weak point.  These links use 1/4" wall DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) which DO NOT have a welded seam.  These links will not bend.

Latest FJ Cruiser 07+ and 4Runner 03+ Lower Link.  New items are rotated upward side brackets, tapered fronts of the side brackets to slide past rocks and the entire center tube raised to the highest mounting point to increase ground clearance.
