Use the steering boxes Toyota uses for Straight Axles, not an inferior IFS box.  After all don't you want to get away from IFS parts?

Toyota Land Cruiser Slip Shaft to install an arm forward FJ-60, FJ-62, FJ-80 or FZJ-80 Power Steering box on your 1996-2000 Toyota 4Runner or 1995.5-2004 Toyota Tacoma.  We feel the 2001-2002 Toyota 4Runners are un-swappable, due to the heavily integrated computer systems.

This part is custom machined in our shop for ultimate quality assurance. Total run out is less than .003" of an inch!!! Use the best steering box for the job. Stay away from the old IFS backwards facing boxes for these newer truck SAS jobs!  The FJ boxes use 4 through the frame mounting bolts versus 2 through the frame and a third through a horn on top of the frame.  Also the Early IFS box is prone to the casting breaking on the side where there is only one bolt.  This will not happen with the stronger Land Cruiser steering box.   

We have pre-built, bolt on, slip steering shafts ready to go.  Mount your steering box and bolt the shaft up and your steering like you did with the OEM steering rack.  These are used Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-62 shafts that have been meticulously cleaned, the custom turned flanges TIG welded on with Total run out is less than .003" of an inch and a brand new Genuine Toyota boot.

Modified Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-62 slip steering shaft with custom turned flange mated to the original steering U-Joint that came with your 4Runner or Tacoma.  You will need to modify the top part of the double cardigan joint to become a single u-joint which is extremely easy.  All you need is an off the shelf dremel tool.

Place your drag link where ever you want and mount your steering box in a much stronger section of the frame.  Cutting the inner fender out leads to the batteries weight cracking and tearing up the body of your vehicle.    Don't cut out the inner fender supports of your vehicle and weaken the inner fenders.
